ABOUT ME

Prof. Shimon Rochkind is one of the pioneers

in neurosurgery and microsurgery.

Specializing in reconstruction of peripheral nerves in adults and children, and is one of the world leading experts in his field.

Prof. Rochkind founded the Division for Peripheral Nerve Reconstruction and the Translational Medicine and Clinical Research Center for Nerve Reconstruction at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, Israel, and served as the divisions’ director since its foundation in 2001 until 2020.

Member of 26 international clinical and scientific associations, a Vice-Chairman of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies and a member of the Peripheral Nerve Committee of European Association of Neurosurgical Societies.

Winner of 7 prestigious international awards and 3 Israeli national awards for his special contribution and outstanding achievements in the field of clinical and fundamental research.

Author of over 80 clinical and research papers and 31 book chapters, inventor of 11 international patents in field of biotechnology and laser technology.

1. Clinical development and use of modern microsurgical approaches for the treatment of the peripheral nerve, the brachial plexus and the cauda equina nerve injuries
